Free Veteran's Assistance Program

Every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local military veterans can stop by the Bing House Museum and receive free assistance in applying for veteran benefits. Local resident Mr. Hampton George, retired U.S. Army has assisted over 3,000 veterans since October 2020. No need for an appointment. Just stop by.

Black Bus Tour Feb 24th, 2024

Join us for the Plant City African American Historic Bus Tour Saturday February 24, 2024 from 10:30am to 1:00pm. The bus will depart the Bing House Museum taking visitors on a tour of Lincoln Park, Downtown, Bealsville, and Madison Park. Cost is $30 per person or $31.25 online. Ony 50 spaces available. Lunch will also be provided to include a fish fry. Register by Wednesday February 21.

Let the Story tell the story

The museum strives to accurately preserve, interpret, and present Plant City’s African American history from an African American perspective. Exhibits, artifacts, storyboards, oral history, and written documents help both American and international visitors better understand the experiences of African Americans during the segregation era.

Plant City African American Bus Tour

Plant City is home to over 27 parks, places, museums and people relating to historic moments regarding African American History.  The Bing House Museum will be hosting a Black Bus Tour Saturday February 24, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The chartered bus tour will travel through Lincoln Park, downtown Plant City (Mural & Photo Archives), Madison Park – Darktown, Bealsville, and Coronet.  Lunch will served immediately afterwards with special guests to include Women’s Boxing Champion Chevelle Hallback, Book Author James McDaniel, Attorney Ted Taylor and Black Comic Book Publisher Second Sight Publishing.  

Tickets are $30 per person and $31.25 per person online (taxes/fees).  Click here to purchase tickets before February 21, 2024.
